Lower Silesia, Sudety, mountains, plateaux, valleys, castles, palaces and treasures… Many books, albums and guides have been published on these subjects. They describe the history of this magic part of Europe, full of secrets, which is an ‘ethnic and cultural melting-pot’. We recommend several places in the area which are worth visiting. These might encourage our guests to learn more about the region. People who have visited Lower Silesia often return to see more. For a newcomer a real adventure awaits.

Radomice is a picturesque village located on the Radomickie Hills in the central part of the Landscape Park of the Bobr River Valley.
The old German name of this village was Wunschendorf what in translation means ‘Village of Wishes’ – sounds promising, isn’t it?
From the Kaczmarek hill in the upper part of the village there is a wonderful panoramic view of all mountains in the Sudety Zachodnie.
The beginning of this settlement can be traced to the middle ages and gold mining activities. Still today it is possible to find, in the beech tree forest on the slopes of Wietrznik, old adits (not all are filled up) in which at the beginning of the 20th century gold was mined, and after 1945 some activities involving uranium ore took place.
On the other side of the hill in the direction of Klecza, a large excavation site is located. It is an old non-active limestone quarry in the form of a picturesque rocky amphitheatre, with a panoramic view of Karkonosze from its upper edge. There is an old sandstone lime kiln or in other words lime burner at the entry to the quarry from the south.
The historical ‘treasure’ of Radomice is a filial church of Saints Jakub and Katarzyna Aleksandryjska erected in the 15th century. It has the 18th and 19th century epitaphs and grave stones built-in the walls. The restored unique gothic triptych altar was built in 1461 by master Dawid Grossmann from Jelenia Góra.
Through the village of Radomice run two trails:
pilgrimage trail of Saint Jakub leading to Santiago de Compostela in Spain
green tourist trail: the trail of Piast Castles
